All Bitterroot Valley 9th-12th grade students are invited to participate in ATR's 'Famous Montana Landmarks' Art Contest. Artwork should depict famously recognized natural or artificial features that stand out from their environment, typically as a local symbol in an area of Montana.
The top four entries in each category will receive cash prizes as follows: 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $150, and 4th $100. One entry will be awarded an additional $150 for ”Best of Show.”
The schools with the most Top-3 winners will receive the following for their art
program: 1st $500, 2nd $350, 3rd $250, 4th $100.
In addition, three students will win art workshops from professional artists from
Artists Along the Bitterroot. Total of prizes awarded in this contest is
$4,500!
Submitted artwork must be original. Entries are judged on creativity, craftsmanship, composition, and interpretation of the theme. Each piece must include an artist's statement and the title of the work. No late entries. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, held at ATR's Hamilton office on Thursday, April 11th at 5pm. Non-winning entries will be available for sale to the public during Hamilton's Culture Crawl - Art Walk on Friday, April 12th from 5-8pm.
